Best practices for safe driving.

Avoid distractions. Don't text and drive.
Since we spend so much time in our cars, using our mobile phones can be tempting but they are also a huge distraction. Even if you aren’t texting, hands-free phone calls, talking with other passengers and even changing radio stations takes your eyes and mind off the road for a few seconds.

Allow extra time for traffic and construction.
If there are two things we have plenty of in the Garden State its traffic and road construction. Both have a way of getting on our nerves, especially when delays cause us to be late. Allowing extra time is always a good way to reduce the stress and remain calm.

Driving has become second nature to many of us, but it still takes our full attention, hand-eye coordination and good judgement. So make sure you are awake, alert and sober. Driving under the influence is of alcohol or drugs is just as dangerous as drowsy driving.
